IMPACT Youth Camp is coming up on July 20-24.  Any students entering 7th Grade, or who are just finishing High School are welcome to attend. This is the last call for anyone interested!  We will be sending applications in early next week.

Kaedon Cronkright & Grace McGrath would like to invite you to an Open House at the Cronkright’s home (107 View St., Ottawa), on Sunday, May 31st from 1pm-3pm. Come join the cookout to celebrate with these graduates.

May 31st, we will be hosting the Community Meal.  This is a time when we can be with members of the community who come together on Sundays to enjoy a meal together.  The meal will be served from 12pm-1pm, on the lower level of the 807 building.  If you signed up to help with any part of the meal, please bring your food to the lower level on Sunday, by 10am.  If you missed the opportunity to be a part of that, please contact the church.  Thank you for your generosity!

VBS Summer 2015!

Christ Episcopal Church and Christ Community Church will partner together for a fantastic 2015 VBS.

Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus was a Kid!

Dates:  June 22 – 26

Time: 10 am – 2:30 pm

Cost: Free

Open to children who are 4 years old through 8th grade. Lunch and a snack will be provided.

Early registration is encouraged so please register by downloading and filling out the registration form. Paul Johnson is available for any questions you may have.  You can email him here.  Registration forms will need to be completed the first day of VBS, and can be emailed to Paul.

Participants will begin and end their day at Christ Community Church, 807 LaSalle St., Ottawa, IL for the daily opening and closing music. Participants will walk a short distance to Christ Episcopal Church, 926 Columbus Street, for other activities & lunch.

Join us in Hometown Nazareth, where we’ll explore what life was like when Jesus was a boy. Experience village life as Jesus might have lived it when he was a boy. Meet Mary, Jesus’ mother, and listen to stories about his youth.  Visit the Marketplace and learn about carpentry, stone jewelry-making, farming, and the foods popular in Nazareth in Jesus’ time.


Small Groups – Summer Session 2015

Summer session starts the week of May 31 unless otherwise indicated.  It is a six week session.

Open Small Groups:

  • Book Study Group – The Good and Beautiful God – led by Rosa Campbell – a group for Women or Men meeting at 2 PM on Fridays
  • Book Study Group – The Pilgrim’s Progress – led by Mark Carsten – a group for Women and Men meeting at 7 PM on Tuesdays
  • Common Interest Group – Beginning Blues Guitar – led by Bob Pursley – meeting at 7 PM on Wednesdays starting on June 12

Dan is back from his time in the Gobi Desert and Mongolia.  Though he left a piece of himself behind.  Meet his goat, Yoda.  🙂
